ARTIST LAUREATE AWARD INFO

What do you do now? Has your art evolved or changed?

It was an encouraging confirmation that my work had connected with some visually-aware people!

What is one piece of advice you would give to an emerging artist?

I do basically the same thing, but my perceptions and ideas are always changing. Art has been my lifetime occupation and I hope it continues to evolve as long as I'm alive.

Briefly, how would you describe the state of the arts locally, as well as national and beyond?

Look around you and really try to see the world as if for the first time. Be self-critical, but never stop working!

I think it's the state of your own mind that's important, the rest is beyond your control. Don't become distracted by what others are doing or saying--keep your focus!
