What did the Fellowship or Laureate mean to you at the time you received it?
I was incredibly honored to be recognized in this way, especially considering the vast number of talented artists in our community.
What do you do now? Has your art evolved or changed?
I am still the Executive Artistic Director for City Lights Theater Company. Here are some photos of past productions I?ve directed: https://www.flickr.com/photos/75857177@N07/sets/72157647013630840/ I hope that my art is always evolving and changing for the better. I challenge myself in everything I do.
What is one piece of advice you would give to an emerging artist?
Keep doing what you are doing if it is in your heart!! Always continue to challenge yourself in your art form. Some of the best results come from mistakes and failures.
Briefly, how would you describe the state of the arts locally, as well as national and beyond?
General public apathy - theater makers passionate and creative - good work!!! Need stronger advocacy and corporate partnerships.
