ARTIST LAUREATE AWARD INFO
What did the Fellowship or Laureate mean to you at the time you received it?
It was validation and much needed encouragement and cash.
What do you do now? Has your art evolved or changed?
My art is ever evolving. My studio, the Art Object Gallery, has become an art object in itself. Not only is it my work space, it’s also a gallery for guest curators to produce fine arts exhibitions and a venue for readings, poetry slams, and music performances. What is one piece of advice you would give to an emerging artist?
Expect nothing, be generous, feel fortunate.
Briefly, how would you describe the state of the arts locally, as well as national and beyond?
