What did the Fellowship or Laureate mean to you at the time you received it?
My 2001 Fellowship in Photography enabled me to to produce mixed media works large enough to be experienced as ?environments.? My 2005 Fellowship in Photography allowed me the immediacy and spontaneity of producing large prints in my own studio.
What do you do now? Has your art evolved or changed?
I am still creating photo-based mixed media works. I find that my work is always evolving and changing, often when I least expect it. My current work can be viewed at: http://www.kathryndunlevie.com/#!detectives-of-fiction/cijw
What is one piece of advice you would give to an emerging artist?
To paraphrase Austin Kleon: Make the art you want to see (hear, read, taste..)
Briefly, how would you describe the state of the arts locally, as well as national and beyond?
expanding, global, interconnected, limitless, exciting
