ARTIST LAUREATE AWARD INFO

What do you do now? Has your art evolved or changed?

The grant allowed me to realize work that I would not have been able to fund otherwise.

What is one piece of advice you would give to an emerging artist?

I continue to be both a practicing artist and a university professor at Stanford. My art continues to change with every project, but kinetic and sound-based sculptures that address the environment and queer practice are ongoing threads in the work. To better experience my installations, go to http://www.terryberlier.com

Briefly, how would you describe the state of the arts locally, as well as national and beyond?

Keep trying! Keep making your art! Keep refining and defining your ideas and practice.
